I am now 26 as I had my birthday this past Thursday, looking back it is amazing to realize that I have been out of college and racing triathlons for 4 years. But here I am looking ahead to my first Olympic race in just 28 days. I am extremely excited and the training over the past month has been going amazing. My race in Geneva went awesome, the work I have been doing on my swim is paying off and I am very excited. It has been a lot of fun training in Massachusetts this year, we have had a hot and humid summer so it been great training for Beijing.

I have been a bit lax in updating my website, but I have had a busy last few weeks. I just got back form the Cohasset Triathlon about an hour drive from my house and had a great time. The race director, Bill Burnett, did an amazing job and I was so excited to see so many people hanging around after a triathlon. I had a solid race eventhough the swim was short. Overall it was a great workout day for me as I continue my prep for Beijing.
Last weekend I was in Des Moines for the Hy-Vee World Cup and what an amazing event they hold there. Last year was great, but this year was even better. They had to move the venue due to flooding at the original lake, but somehow they were able to find a new course, lake and finish area, very impressive. Overall the race went fine but I had a subpar run.

Last week I went to my middle school, the Fenn School, and got to chat before the All-School Meeting. The school senate donated all of the proceeds from their games night to help me with my drive to Beijing. It was a great honor to have the school supporting me.
Training has been going amazing over the past month and I am very excited to race in Vancouver and Des Moines. Ethan Brown has been living with us for the past few weeks and it has been fun to have a training partner.

I am finally on my way home from training camp. My trip home included a stopover in Kansas City where I got to cheer on and inspire some local kids at the Hormel/Hy Vee Kids Triathlon. It was a lot of fun and I am very excited to go to two more of these kids races in Sioux City, Iowa and Rochester, MN.
As for training that has been going great and my race in Mazatlan went as well as it could. The pack I was in decided to give 3 minutes to the leaders so I was running with a deficit that I knew I could not make up on one athlete. I ended up running 1 minute and 30 seconds back into him with a 31:07 10km run. My fitness is exactly where I want it to be right now and I am very excited to step back into and get ready for my next racing block which includes Vancouver World Championships and Des Moines Hy Vee Triathlon.
